This very scarcely populated natural region is considered to be the second best place in Spain for star gazing, after the Canary Islands, and one of the best quality skies in the world with virtually no light pollution and very good positioning. The monastery is part of the Starlight Reserve - Declared “Starlight Reserve” by the Unesco in 2014.
